More than a thousand Brachytherapy Applications in Cervical Cancer: What have we learnt ?

 At Kathmandu Cancer Center, we have surpassed a thousand brachytherapy applications in Cancer of Uterine Cervix ! That on it self is a milestone because for the first time in the country, imaging guided brachytherapy based on target volume was started at our center just 2 years back.

Here in this blog, we would informally discuss what we learnt with this experience.

3. Patients are much more cooperative. 

4. Compulsory Shower before Brachytherapy reduced infection rates.

5. Talking to the Patient during procedure makes it easy for patient and the doctor.

BREAST CANCER

  Breast Cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in Women around the world. If detected early, most breast cancers are completely Curable. During her lifetime, every woman has 1 in 8 chances of developing breast cancer. Luckily, if we find out Breast Cancer early, can be completely cured. Each year, more than 15,000 Nepali women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In Nepal, because of unawareness, many patients present at an advanced stage – unlike in developed countries. Since Women present in early stage in developed countries, their chances of cure is very high ! WHAT ARE SYMPTOMS OF BREAST CANCER.
